Our Baule collection is hand woven by the Baule people of Côte d’Ivoire in Africa. Starting with locally grown cotton, the fibers are spun into silky thread and dyed using organic materials. The intricate patterns are woven into strips of cloth using narrow looms built by Baule artisans. Once the cloth is finished, the hand-woven strips are sewn together to form Baule fabric. We take special care to transform these beautiful fabrics into our our Baule pillows.
Our Baule collection is sewn in small batches to reflect the careful, hand made nature of the fabric. We believe in thoughtfully curating home goods that are well-made, functional, and beneficial for the world we live in. To care for the intricately woven fabric, we recommend spot cleaning or dry cleaning.
